Can I Have One Good Reason To Get Patio Cushions

We’ll get to several good reasons, but since you are here and obviously looking for good patio cushions, then we are on the same page. You already know that you want them, some people don’t realize that they really need them. So, is it a want or need for you? Well, we know that comfort is the greatest benefit, but what else? Then there are the reasons like making it easier wear and tear on your patio furniture as well as extending its life and making your outdoor entertaining that much more enjoyable. If this isn’t enough, then I don’t know what it will take to convince your partner that you need them

No matter how you slice it, it just makes good plain sense to own outdoor patio cushions. The only excuse that most people come up with is either cost or nuisance. Sure, they do cost a little bit of money. How much do chair cushions cost? Well, that number can range from a relatively cheap, say twenty bucks, up to over one hundred for pure luxury. The only other reason might be that they are a bit of work to maintain and care for. Quite frankly, if you don’t want to take care of something you invest in, then you should just rent everything and then you don’t have to worry about taking pride in anything you own. Now, unless you are into pain, you’ll want cushions for simple reasons. Wrought iron patio furniture and wooden benches are just hard and uncomfortable without some sort of padding. Brief periods of sitting on a hard surface are tolerable, but certainly not for an entire dinner party or evening or even for some hours lounging outside underneath your covered patio or out by the pool.

Comfort is far and above the main reason to have a patio cushion. Period. While this may be the driving force to have a cushioned patio furniture, it is not the only reason to have them. There are other functions that they provide. That is the premise for the rest of this article. Think about this scene: you have the table set, the guest arrive, you move outside and want to sit down and enjoy their evening. Then, before they can even relax, they get a hard metal bar sticking in their side or a sharp piece of wicker material poking them in the leg. Thanks, but no thanks!

One other reason, aside from comfort, that some say motivated their decision to buy patio cushions is due to the protection it provides for their patio furniture. I like this argument. In fact, wooden chairs and benches almost require some sort of cover to keep them from deteriorating prematurely. All patio furniture will age over time, the key is to help it age more gracefully. There is nothing worse than having to worry about getting splinters in all your soft spots because there are no cushions to protect you. And, the cushions themselves will help to extend the life of the wood, making those splinters less of a problem. Some wood products, like teak, redwood and cedar do weather nicely and you may even want this, but a cushion is still a good idea. Even this partial covering of your patio furniture will give it the long life you hoped for and expected of your purchase.

Another seemingly obvious reason to opt for chair cushions is for their decor factor. With the right pattern or color, your furniture will look even more attractive and stylish. So what if you are the envy of the neighborhood group. If you enjoy entertaining, a nice set of outdoor cushions is essential hardware..er..software. I say essential because you have to create some type of ambiance when you entertain, it is part of the duty of the host. This allows the guests to enjoy their time with more of an ‘event’ feel. When you have company, let’s face it, you have to step up your efforts. Your guests’ comfort is your primary concern.

A final reason to get outdoor patio cushions is for variety. The very fact that you have to look at your patio set nearly every day is enough to make you want to go out and go shopping just to mix it up. If you’ve had your set for five years or more, you know what I mean. A new set of quality seat cushions can help curb the shopping bug – at least from the expensive new patio set. You can find cushions for your seats, bench and even patio swing cushions are available. A simple search will give you all the results online. Variety is the spice of life. You can also mix or match different cushions among your chairs and benches giving you ever more variety. The variety of fabrics and patterns to choose from with regard to outdoor cushions is greater than at any other time. Investing in a good set of cushions is like protecting the investment you made in your patio set as well – it will save you a bundle in the end.

So, about the cost. Yes, patio cushions can get a bit expensive. This is mostly due to the fact that they are worth it. You should also know that buying quality cushions will usually cost more than cheap patio cushions. Cheap both in price and quality I’m referring to. You can also find inexpensive good quality cushions, so don’t judge by price alone. Your extra investment will be worth it in the end as you will save yourself in the end. Buying quality in this case will prevent you from having to purchase replacement patio cushions each season as your old ones deteriorate and disintegrate in the elements.

In the end, the most important reason to use cushions or purchase a new set is because you will flat out enjoy your life more. It’s true. Whether you enjoy entertaining, lounging outside under your patio cover, watching the kids run around out back, or sitting next to the pool with your favorite drink, having a cushioned seat will go a long way toward helping you have a bigger smile on your face. Such a simple thing. Less pain equals more comfort. More comfort equals more happy. Think of it as buying ‘enjoyment time’ with family and friends! What is that worth?
