Are you scratching your head, wondering how to fix your failing relationship?
Whenever a relationship ends or is near its end, the shock and pain of being single again can be tremendous. It’s to no surprise that there are tons of advice and information on how to cope with breaking up, after being dumped. One of the first things you need to consider is if it’s really worth your time and effort to try and attempt to fix your past relationship. Sometimes love cannot conquer all and all the wounds of your previous relationship may be too great to brush aside.
Allow Time to Help You Through
You need to have at least a month or so pass before you can consider getting back together with your ex. One of the most common mistakes most people do after a break up is to immediately pick up the phone and call their ex for a second chance. This is a natural reaction to try and patch things up, if you were dumped. Right now, your emotions are going haywire. The best advice is to keep your emotions in check and have your panic feelings subside. You will also avoid the possibility of pleading or acting like a fool.
If you have experience a breakup before, you know that you need to start focusing on yourself. This is essential for the road to recovery for post-breakup blues. Don’t think that’s it’s selfish to start living for yourself. This is for your own true happiness. While you are starting to get things together, you need to think about what would really bring you true happiness in this life. You have to weigh all the good times and the bad with your ex. Remember, no relationship is perfect. Another good way to start recovering, is to start socializing with new people and getting together with old friends. This has been tried time and time again and it works! It’s the best way to take control of your life. Some suggest that you could also try to give yourself a new look for the ‘NEW’ you.
Bridging the Gap
If after a few months you feel strongly about your ex, you may start considering how to contact them. The most common and best way to contact them is through a simple phone call. If you don’t get a chance to talk to your ex, just leave a simple voice mail. Do not sound nervous or desperate. You need to keep things very casual. Just wait for their response. If they do not call you back, then you’ll just have to keep on waiting. DO NOT CALL THEM AGAIN. If and when they call you back, you can make a natural suggestion to maybe catch up over a cup of coffee. If they agree and you two meet, be open and try to listen to what they have to say to you. Also you need to open your ears and be reserved with your comments.
The truth of the matter is that getting back your ex is not such an easy thing. A lot of the advice that works, work because they are opposite to what we naturally want to do. The only way to get your ex back is to take action. It’s delicate balance of allowing your own personal space yet having an open and honest line of communication.
